For Spotify, you are agreeing to have your personal information from such as your log in information, audio clips from voice clips and information from third party apps connect to your account.
It is advised to turn off personal advertisement on your OS for PC because it shows you ads based off of your browsing history. They also advise that you disable systems like Siri and Cortana, as they collect user data that can be sold off to other companies for useful statistical information.
Why is this significant? The online space is use to find almost any and all information, that also include information that companies can get on you for marketing proposes. Information that they gather can only be achieved as efferently and effortlessly online. Compared to 100 years ago, such tactics couldn’t be used. So being able to control your valued information can give less power to data leaks where your information could be stolen, compromised and irretrievable.
